Privacy Policy

Your Privacy

Select Sites is committed to protecting your privacy, and takes its responsibilities regarding the security of customer information very seriously. This policy explains how we use customer information and how we protect your privacy.

Use of customer information

Information required to process your request/booking
We require certain information to allow us to process your holiday booking. This includes your name, address, telephone number, and email address, as well as all the names of the passengers travelling and vehicle details. We need to pass on your personal details to the companies and organisations who need to know them so that your holiday can be provided (for example your ferry company, campsite, other supplier, credit/debit card company or bank).

Such companies and organisations may be outside the European Union, Switzerland, Czech Republic, Croatia and Slovenia if your holiday is to take place or involves suppliers outside these countries. We would also like to store and use your personal details for future marketing purposes (for example, sending you a brochure or details of a promotion).

All details you give us in connection with your booking (including those relating to any disability or medical condition or your religious beliefs) will be kept but we will only use names and addresses for marketing products and services arranged by or through Select Sites. We may occasionally use the information we collect to notify you about new services and special offers we think you may find valuable. If you would prefer not to receive this information please call us on 0844 406 0127 or forward a letter or email.

Except where expressly permitted by the Data Protection Act, we will only deal with the personal details you give us as set out above unless you agree otherwise. We have appropriate security measures in place to protect this information.

You are generally entitled to ask us (by letter or e-mail) what details of yours are being held or processed, for what purpose and to whom they may be or have been disclosed. We reserve the right to charge a fee to respond to such a request. We promise to respond to your request within 40 days of receiving your written request and fee. In certain limited circumstances we are entitled to refuse your request.

Competitions/campaigns
When you take up a promotional offer or competition, we may ask for your name, address and e-mail address so we can administer the contest and notify winners. Occasionally we ask you to email us with your opinion on a particular subject, and may publish a selection of these comments on our web site. However, if you advise us that you do not wish to have your comment and name published, we will not do so.

Site tracking
We use tracking software to monitor customer traffic patterns and site usage to help us develop the design and layout of the site to better meet the needs of visitors to select-site.com. This software does not enable us to capture any personally identifying information.

Security to protect your information
As required by the UK Data Protection Acts of 1984 and 1998, we follow strict security procedures in the storage and disclosure of information which you have given us, to prevent unauthorised access. Our security procedures mean that we may occasionally request proof of identity before we are able to disclose sensitive information to you.

Cookies
Cookies are small pieces of information that are stored by your browser on your computer's hard drive, and enable Select Sites to provide features such as remembering your address, so that you don't have to re-enter it each time you make a booking (this service is opt-in). Cookies can be deleted from your hard drive if you wish. Most web browsers automatically accept cookies, but you can change your browser settings to prevent that. Even without a cookie you can use most of the features on the web site. Our cookies do not contain any personally identifying information.

Disclosure to third parties
Select Sites does not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to others. We never disclose information about a passenger to any other person or organisation without your consent unless there is an emergency situation that requires it or we are legally required to do so.

Select Sites may provide aggregate statistics about our customers, sales, traffic patterns, and related site information to reputable third-party vendors, but these statistics will include no personally identifying information.

Your consent
In using the Select Sites web site, you consent to the collection and use of this information by Select Sites in the ways described above.

If you have any further questions about our privacy policy or its implementation, please write or email to Select Sites.

If we decide to change our privacy policy, we will post those changes on this page so that you are always aware of what information we collect, how we use it and in what circumstances we disclose it.
