Campsite Description

Camping Blaarmeersen is a leafy suburban municipal campsite that can be found on the outskirts of the ancient city of Ghent and beside the beautiful 250 acre Bourgoyen Nature Reserve. The large grassy pitches are individually hedged and the onsite facilities are open all season. The adjacent leisure complex includes a lake for sailing, windsurfing, rowing and swimming and offers a wide range of activities from squash, mini-golf and football, to an athletics track, roller skating and children's play area. There is also a good network of paths and cycle tracks around the surrounding area. Buses run every 20 minutes to the centre of the city, which is well worth a visit for its contrast of quaint cobbled streets with winding canals and its modern restaurants and vibrant nightlife. Location: Access is from the E40 between Bruges and Brussels.
