Campsite Description

Camping Bled occupies a unique position opposite the magnificent Lake Bled and offers a wonderfully peaceful ambience and superb mountain views. Hidden in a tiny valley at the foothills of the Karavanke and Julian Alps, it is just 2km from the centre of the picturesque town of Bled - a jewel among the alpine resorts, renowned for its mild, healthy climate, thermal lake and cosmopolitan atmosphere. The lakeside beach, with special swimming area and facilities for hiring boats, is just 100m from the site entrance. Nobody can fail to be impressed by the stunning views across the lake to the tiny island of Pletna (accessible only by boats hired on the lakeside) which is dominated by a beautiful spired church. The pitches on the site are flat and grassy, and the majority are divided by low shrubs. The facilities are maintained to a very high standard and two of the sanitary blocks have recently been renovated. A programme of on-site activities is offered in the high season, including sporting tournaments such as table-tennis, basketball and badminton. There are also a number of excursions offered, including white water rafting, mountain biking and hikes around the beautiful alpine surroundings. For a taste of local culture, occasional Slovenian evenings are organised in the restaurant. The walk or lovely horse-drawn carriage ride round the lake is highly recommended.
